About dried rose buds
Whole dried rose buds, picked closed so they hold their shape in the cup. Scent-forward and gently sweet, with a slight tannin edge if left to steep too long. This pack is 50 g net. At the quantities below that is about 17 brews. That works out at S$13.98 per 100 g.
Also known as rose tea, mei gui hua, rosebud tea, 玫瑰花茶, french rose, golden edge rose.

What people use it for
Brewed on its own, blended with pu erh to soften it, or dropped into a glass teapot when the point is how it looks. Also used a spoonful at a time in home-made bath salts and in baking.
How to prepare it
Five to six buds per mug of water just off the boil, 3 minutes. Longer than about 5 minutes and it turns astringent.
Keeping it
Airtight and away from light. Roses lose their scent before they lose their colour.
Questions people ask
Does rose tea have caffeine?
No, not on its own. A rose and pu erh blend does, because of the pu erh.
Why does my rose tea taste bitter?
Almost always over-steeping. Three minutes is enough; take the buds out rather than leaving them in the pot.
How far does this pack go?
At the quantity in the instructions above, about 17 brews from this pack.
Is the bigger pack cheaper?
This one works out at S$13.98 per 100 g. One Sunny lists most items in more than one size, so compare that figure rather than the pack price.

Seller was very honest to apologise that worker had packed one less packet of roses and inform me to request for a refund when I receive products. However as to compliment this honest seller, I have decided to pay the full amount. Thanks for the free sample tie guan yin too. Looking to order again from this seller again. Highly recommended shop.
