About jasmine
Dried jasmine blossom. Sold here as the flower itself, and separately blended with green tea leaf in the jasmine green tea. This pack is 100 g net. At the quantities below that is about 33 brews. That works out at S$7.80 per 100 g.
Also known as jasmine tea, mo li hua, molihua, 茉莉花, jasmine flower tea.
What people use it for
Brewed alone as a caffeine-free flower infusion, or a pinch added to green tea, pu erh or a flower blend to lift the scent.
How to prepare it
A rounded teaspoon per mug, water about 85C rather than fully boiling, 2 to 3 minutes.
Keeping it
Airtight. Jasmine is the fastest of the flower teas to lose its scent once opened.
Questions people ask
Is this jasmine flowers or jasmine green tea?
Check the title. The plain jasmine packs are the dried flower only and have no caffeine; the jasmine green tea packs are green tea leaf scented with jasmine, and do.
What water temperature?
Just off the boil, around 85C. Boiling water scalds the scent out of the flower.
