Fruit dried or freeze-dried and sold loose by weight. Freeze-dried keeps the shape and snaps; sun-dried is chewy. This pack is 250 g net. At the quantities below that is about 8 servings. That works out at S$3.60 per 100 g.

Also known as dried fruit, preserved fruit, freeze dried fruit.

What people use it for

Eaten as a snack, baked into cakes and bread, scattered on cereal, or simmered into a sweet soup.

How to prepare it

Ready to eat. For baking, a 20 minute soak in warm water or juice plumps them up.

Keeping it

Airtight. Dried fruit goes sticky and can bloom sugar in humid air; the fridge stops both.

Questions people ask

Is there added sugar?

The plain dried and freeze-dried fruits have none added. Anything labelled preserved, candied or sugared does - sugar is the preservative.

Is the bigger pack cheaper?

Received fast. Colour not uniform was expecting golden lighter colour but the figs were half half. Tried and it's mild flavored. Suitable for soup and also as a snack on its own.
