About dried roselle

Dried hibiscus sabdariffa calyces. Sharply sour and a vivid ruby red in water, the colour most people know from bottled hibiscus drinks. This pack is 100 g net. At the quantities below that is about 25 brews. That works out at S$6.24 per 100 g.

Also known as hibiscus tea, luo shen hua, roselle tea, 洛神花, asam paya.

What people use it for

Brewed hot with rock sugar, or brewed strong and chilled with lemon as a cordial. A few pieces will colour a whole jug.

How to prepare it

Two to three pieces per mug, 5 minutes, sweetened to taste. For a cold jug, brew double strength and pour over ice.

Keeping it

Airtight. It is slightly sticky and will clump in humid air.
