The sweeteners a Chinese kitchen uses, and the sweets made from them. Rock sugar dissolves slowly and tastes cleaner than granulated, which is why it is the one used in soups and teas. This pack is 750 g net. At the quantities below that is about 50 servings. That works out at S$1.44 per 100 g.
Also known as rock sugar, bing tang, 冰糖, brown sugar, maltose.

Rock sugar into sweet soups, herbal drinks and braises; brown sugar with ginger; maltose for glazing roast meat and for candy.
Add towards the end and taste as you go. Rock sugar takes a few minutes to dissolve fully.
Airtight and dry.
It dissolves slowly and tastes less sharp, so it sweetens a soup without flattening the other flavours. It is the standard in Chinese sweet soups for that reason.
At the quantity in the instructions above, about 50 servings from this pack.
This one works out at S$1.44 per 100 g. One Sunny lists most items in more than one size, so compare that figure rather than the pack price.
