About dried mulberries

Whole dried mulberries. The black ones are tart-sweet and stain deep purple; the white ones are much sweeter and more like a raisin. Sold as listed above.

Also known as sang shen, dried mulberry, 桑葚干, black mulberry, white mulberry.

What people use it for

Eaten straight as a snack, scattered on cereal and yoghurt, brewed as a dark fruity tea, or simmered into a sweet soup.

How to prepare it

A tablespoon in a mug of just-boiled water, 5 minutes, and eat the fruit afterwards. Or eat dry, by the handful.

Keeping it

Airtight. They are sticky and clump in humidity; the fridge keeps them loose.
