About dried lemon slices
Whole lemons or limes sliced and dried. Sour, aromatic, and they rehydrate into something close to a fresh slice. Sold as listed above, freeze-dried, so it keeps its shape and snaps.
Also known as dried lemon, ning meng gan, 柠檬干, dried citrus slices, freeze dried lime.
What people use it for
One or two slices in hot water with honey, or in a cold jug with mint. Also brewed with roselle, chrysanthemum or red dates.
How to prepare it
One or two slices per mug, just-boiled water, 5 minutes. For a cold jug, use four slices to a litre and leave it in the fridge for a few hours.
Keeping it
Airtight. Dried citrus goes soft quickly in Singapore humidity.

Is it sour or sweet?
Sour. There is no added sugar on the plain dried slices, so honey or rock sugar is usual.
